Danielle & Christiaan had two wedding ceremonies, one in England for their British family and one here in SA for their South African family and friends. As with so many busy international brides today, we had to organise her entire Cape Town wedding over e-mails. I only met her on the morning when I took her her bouquet. I was so happy to see that the flowers matched the bride perfectly – soft, feminine and lovely. We used a combination of Roses, Peonies, Lisianthus, Stocks, Hipericum berries and Delphiniums for a very classic femine look. It was the bride’s idea to add candles, even though it was a lunch, and I think it worked so well against the grayness of the winters day.
For the bridesmaids she wanted just a single Peonie, tied with a blush coloured ribbon – simple and pretty.
They had a small intimate wedding in a little stone church in Tokai, followed by this delicious lunch celebration at the lovely Steenberg. It was a typical winters day in Cape Town, but with the fires lit in the dining room, fantastic food & wine and their favourite people to share the day with, the weather bothered no one.
Thanks to the always charming and talented Yolande Marx who took these lovely photographs of the wedding.
