Dutch master class – Val de Vie shoot
This past June we were invited to be part of the workshops organised by the Little Pink Book as part of the on stage entertainment at the SA Wedding Show . Each workshop was a collaboration of service providers in the industry and together we created a little taste of a full wedding – stationary, decor, cake and food in a hour. This shoot was the result of that collaboration.
The Venue partner for this workshop was Val de Vie, our very own South African Polo Estate. For this summery look we got our inspiration from the Dutch master painters of the 1700’s who were famous for their beautiful paintings of flowers, fruit and insects. This look is really a clash between traditional, old world beauty and a more organic, stripped down, fresh approach. I am completely obsessed with wood at the moment and the natural wood Tiffany chairs from Exclusive Hire, really sum up this look perfectly. The raw silk dress we chose is very simple, structured, almost functional. The bouquet was kept simple with a combination of decorative cabbages, tulips, blushing brides and amaranthus.
